Hello, I am Kristia Britt-Orr. I am a Christian. I am a wife. I am a mother. I am a purposeful servant. My call at a very young age was to do just this–to be a psychotherapist and serve God through serving His beloved, no matter what. I never had a plan B.
I was diagnosed with Sickle Cell Anemia as an infant (no worries–I’m great now). I tell you this because I wanted you know how passionate I am about allowing God to use me however He chooses. I fought this terminal disease not knowing how long I would be “here.” I pushed through my undergraduate studies and two schools concurrently during my graduate studies. It would have been worth ALL of the hard work if I was a therapist for just one day and the good Lord called me home. Well, that did not happen and with over 20 strong years of practicing, I am still here loving and honoring the call–to help people Heal, Grow, and Thrive through Psychotherapy, Christian Counseling, and/or Coaching.
Working with me is easy. You will find me to be nonjudgmental, personable, easy to talk to, and appropriately humorous. During my graduate studies, the two schools I attended concurrently allowed me to study both Christian Counseling and Clinical Psychology. I began my practice in 1998 serving clients regardless of their faith.
I want to help you thrive, which may result from emotional healing, personal development, wellness, and/or spiritual growth. We are at different places in our journey and I am smart and wise enough to know there is no cookie-cutter way to get there; our roadblocks are different. I start off with loving you enough to hear you, be present, listen more, pray for you and God’s direction (whether or not I say this out loud–not all of my clients are Christians and that is completely ok), and then we roll up our sleeves and work.
I invite you to peruse this site and contact me if you have further questions I may answer for you. Thank you for you allowing the possibility of serving you.
